Wrobocon is an online conference for Robot Framework enthusiasts and professionals. NiceProject has been hosting it for four years, and I've been designing its visual identity since the second edition. In a way, each Wrobocon marks a milestone in my own journey of growth in both design and code.
Overview
I joined a very enthusiastic team of QA specialists who decided to organise a Polish edition of Robot Framework conference in Poland, Wrocław (hence Wrobocon) after attending the official Robocon event in Helsinki. After three editions of growing interest, we knew it was time to step up our game: refresh the designs, develop social media, and open new channels to reach more people. The initiative kept growing, and with it, our hunger for a larger audience and greater recognition.
Approach
The strategy behind developing a cohesive identity for the Robot Framework-themed blog and Wrobocon conference. We chose a font family resembling the official RF Foundation's, and the logo's colors and forms were adjusted yearly to maintain consistency and minimize confusion. This approach ensured brand recognition while allowing for creative evolution each year.
We launched a Robot Framework–themed blog on our website and promoted the conference with regular announcements and microlearning content on social media. What began as a small initiative was now taking on a recognizable name and form.
Outcome
The numbers in the image reflect the interest in the 4th edition of Wrobocon (2025). From the very beginning, we've been tracking results with Google Analytics to measure the conference's reach and growth.
Our community grew across every category. We sent out multiple weekly newsletters, shared over 10 microlearning posts on social media, and published more than 10 blog articles. This resulted in:
